Established in 1955 by the Massachusetts Medical Society, the Charitable and Educational Fund (the “Fund”) supported Massachusetts medical students through low-interest loans. Effective June 1, 2025, the Fund merged into the Massachusetts Medical Society and Alliance Charitable Foundation (the “Foundation”). Consequently, the Foundation is now the ‘lender’ and has taken over all rights and obligations under the loan agreements. The terms and conditions of existing loans remain unchanged.

The loan program has concluded, and the Foundation is poised to launch a new scholarship initiative, designed to better meet the needs of Massachusetts medical students. More information will be posted once available.
